Sourcy

Terms of Use

Last updated: October 2026

This English version is provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.

1. Purpose and acceptance

These terms of use (the "Terms") govern the use of the Sourcy mobile app, the Sourcy browser extension and related services (the "Service"), published by Bryan Coutant EI, trading as GetSourcy ("we"; see the legal notice). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms and our privacy policy. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Sourcy is a collaborative source-indexing tool for YouTube videos: an artificial intelligence splits a video into thematic segments and suggests sources; the community adds to them, corrects them and votes. Sourcy describes and references — it does not decree the truth.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Interruptions, bugs or changes to features may occur. We do our best, without any obligation of result.

3. Account

4. User content and community rules

By posting content on Sourcy (display name, sources, votes), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute it within the Service. You remain responsible for what you post. In particular, the following are prohibited:

We may moderate, remove or anonymise any content that breaks these rules, without notice.

5. AI analyses and the "evidence score"

Analyses are generated by an artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) — which may use the Google Search tool built into the API to check recent facts — and then refined by the community. They may contain errors, omissions or approximations. The evidence score reflects the state of community sourcing at a given moment — it is neither an official truth nor medical, legal, financial or professional advice. Always cross-check the primary sources cited before drawing conclusions. How it works and its limitations: method and limitations.

"AI or real?" — the percentage and curve shown under a video summarise users' votes ("I think it's AI" / "I think it's real"). It is a collective perception, not a finding: no tool can yet reliably tell whether a video was generated by AI, and these votes say nothing about the creator's intent or good faith. Voting is free, limited to one vote per account and per video (which can be changed) and to 200 votes per 24 hours, all platforms combined. It covers YouTube videos and, from the Android app ("Share to Sourcy"), TikTok and Instagram videos, for which Sourcy offers only this vote: no analysis and no sources. Sourcy is not affiliated with TikTok or Instagram, and does not host, copy or download any of their videos; only the video's public identifier is kept with the vote.

6. Subscriptions, credits and purchases

7. Intellectual property and YouTube services

The app, its name, its logo and its code remain our property. The YouTube videos analysed belong to their respective authors and are played through the official embedded YouTube player. Sourcy does not host, copy or modify these videos.

Sourcy uses YouTube API Services. By using the Service, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Data processed by Google is handled in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.

8. Suspension and termination

If these Terms are breached (in particular credit fraud, vote manipulation or unlawful content), we may suspend or delete the account concerned, without notice or compensation. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

9. Availability and liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, our liability shall not exceed the total amount you have paid for the Service over the last twelve (12) months. Nothing in these Terms excludes the mandatory legal guarantees that consumers benefit from.

10. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms (new features, legal obligations). In the event of a substantial change, a notice will be displayed in the app or on the website. Continuing to use the Service after the new terms take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute will fall within the jurisdiction of the competent French courts, subject to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
